		<title>Images from Lost - Song at the Whitstable Biennale 2010</title>

		<content type="text/html" mode="escaped"><![CDATA[<img src="images/lost_song_Fog_horn.jpg" width="480" height="92" border="0" alt="" /><br />From the <a href="http://www.kentculturalbaton.com/index.html" target="_blank" >Kent Cultural Baton</a> Site at the <a href="http://www.whitstablebiennale.com/" target="_blank" >Whitstable Biennale</a> 2010, and forming part of the Biennale&#039;s <a href="http://thewhitstablesatellite.com/" target="_blank" >satellite projects</a> for one day the Fog Horn Sculptures sounded and returned the Lost - Song back to the coast. A small bit of extra info on the works can be found <a href="http://www.kentculturalbaton.com/artists/stevemcpherson.html" target="_blank" >here</a>. A great day, great response with many people participating. Unfortunately the constant stream of visitors and willing participants meant I only managed to use my camera at the quieter times, which were few. 		<title>&#039;Lost - Song&#039; One day intervention, Whitstable Biennale &amp; Kent Cultural Baton</title>

		<title>Marine Conservation Society UK, Beach Clean, Kent. </title>

		<content type="text/html" mode="escaped"><![CDATA[<img src="images/mcs_beach_clean_banner(1).jpg" width="480" height="57" border="0" alt="" /><br /><a href="http://www.mcsuk.org/" target="_blank" >MSCUK</a> asked me to attend and assist in their beach clean up at Kingsdown, near Deal. <br /><br />Their lead Beachwatch sponsor, <a href="http://www.seafrance.com" target="_blank" >SeaFrance</a>, is based in Dover, and they regularly organise beach cleans at Kingsdown for their staff to volunteer at. They planned this one to coincide with <a href="http://www.theoceanproject.org/wod/" target="_blank" >World Oceans Day</a> (8th June), and 90 children from the  local school got involved too. The weather held out, I beach combed and talked to the children about my work and marine litter. 		<title>MarinePlastic.org Participatory On-line Art Project</title>

So I have created, with a little coding help form my friend Neil at <a href="http://www.beamtwenty3.co.uk/contact.html" target="_blank" >Beamtwenty3</a> an on-line site to do this. If you find a beached plastic object take a photo and email it to me from the contact button on the website. You will find all the details and information to do this from the navigation links. <br /><br />Get some fresh salty sea air, some exercise, and at the same time have fun hunting for interesting plastic objects washed up on to the shore to take photos of. Then send them to me via the site and I will publish your find along with others. Be part of this collaborative art project, and help also to create more awareness of the plastic pollution of our seas. ]]></content>

		<title>Strangled Sea Bird</title>

		<content type="text/html" mode="escaped"><![CDATA[<img src="images/dead-gannet.jpg" width="480" height="292" border="0" alt="" /><br />Going through folders on my pc, I remembered a series of 25 photos I took of the corpses of sea birds on Chesil Beach, Portland, Dorset, UK in 2002. The walk was a 15 min stretch at the most and I don&#039;t think I photographed all of them. <br /><br />The discarded nylon lines of fishermen have claimed the life of many a beautiful bird and this Gannet was one of them. Please take your rubbish home!]]></content>

		<title>March Beach Marine Plastic Update 2010  </title>

		<title>Marine Conservation Society Art Auction at Deutsche Bank HQ London</title>

		<content type="text/html" mode="escaped"><![CDATA[<img src="images/DB&amp;MCS.jpg" border="0" alt="" /><br /><br />Late last year MCS was chosen as one of 2 charities to be <a href="http://www.db.com/unitedkingdom/" target="_blank" >Deutsche Bank&#039;s</a> charity of the Year 2010. In March of this year an art auction to raise funds for <a href="http://www.mcsuk.org/" target="_blank" >The Marine Conservation Society</a> will take place at the London head quarters of Deutsche Bank.<br /><br />Invited Artist from across the UK have submitted work for this cause and I was lucky enough to be asked. I have gladly donated a Blue Marine/Beach Plastic combination piece, (See  <a href="http://www.stevemcpherson.co.uk/stevemcpherson2/wordpress/2007/08/18/combination-piece-blue-no1-2-3/" target="_blank" >here</a>), and fully support the good work MCS do, best of luck.]]></content>

		<title>Beach Plastic Inventory Updated January 2010</title>
